You Ready to Rock?!

This game has now jumped up a couple notches for me. IGN posted a preview of the World Tour mode for “Rock Band.” I found the video preview to be most exciting. Cool stuff was shown like how you can customize your character, create a band logo (which sounds similar to creating art in “Forza 2“) and how you unlock songs.

I love the look of this game. There seems to be a lot more to it that what “Guitar Hero 2” had to offer in terms of style and presentation. I’ve got a couple of gift cards burning a hole in my wallet, but I’m holding on to them to get this game. Even though the only way to get the game this year is to buy the bundle of the game, drums, guitar and mic for $170 I think it’s a good deal. When you check GameStop’s site, they list the drums alone for $80 and that’s without the game. So you could think of the launch bundle as having to spend $30 extra to get a guitar and microphone. Not bad. Even if you don’t think you’ll have enough people over to play co-op, at least you’ll have the set up.

For me, the lack of online for World Tour mode isn’t a big deal. Considering how often I get lag in most online shooters, I can’t imagine how well a rhythm game would work. Besides, I’m not sure how many of my friends are even going to get this. I could be wrong. They can always come over and try it out at my place first. Who knows, maybe that feature could be patched to work online down the road.

As for Solo mode, I’ll probably start with the drums and then guitar. I doubt I’ll get on the mic, except for a couple of my favorite songs.

Lookout. “1 Man Ambush” is getting ready to make your ears bleed in a month!
