Ah, ‘Martyrdom.’ My favorite “Call of Duty 4” perk. Forget what I said about not being excited about the ‘Perks’ system. I like it. I like it a lot. Through continuous online play, you level up your weapons and rank, unlocking new perks and challenges as you go. This is not a difficult thing to do; play long enough and you’ll rank up.

Last night I unlocked the perk call ‘Martyrdom.’ What this perk does is when you are killed, you drop a live grenade - the theory being that you’ve got the ability from beyond the grave to kill the opponent who just bested you. Of course, this is only beneficial if your enemy is close by rather than those camping, sniping beeotchs you run into most often. The grenade can also kill your teammates, as I discovered when Gilamon was shot and dropped a grenade like he was dropping a deuce.

One of the best parts about this perk is watching the Killcam to see if your grenade did it’s job or not. One time I saw the replay of my death and then the quick sprint of my enemy as he realized that there’s a grenade at his feet. Eat it.

From hell’s heart, I stab at thee. For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee. ~ Khan
